THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Apprentice R Venniker (FATEFUL DAY) accidentally dropped her crop at the 200m. Thereafter, this colt commenced to hang out. b) Jockey T Gumede appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding his riding of SILVER TYCOON in this race, with particular reference to the pace set in the early and middle stages. He explained that it was his instruction to go to the front and allow this gelding to stride. He further explained that once he reached the top of the straight, this gelding began to tire and as a result, fell back to the field and despite his attempts to get further effort from SILVER TYCOON, it proved unsuccessful. The Board has adjourned to review this Race. c) SPRING HIGH (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
