THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRINCESS ZEE (*P Mxoli) was stubborn loading. The Starting Stall Certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses who participated in this race, carried sectional timing devices in their saddle cloths. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PRINCESS ZEE, this filly has been suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a companion. Suspension dates: 26 August 2022 to 1 September 2022. PRINCESS ZEE may not be presented for repassing during this period. Trainer J Borman advised (GT). c) At approximately the 1000m, SASSY (N Klink) had to steady to avoid running onto the heels of LOCHRANZA (C Habib). d) Jockey J P van der Merwe reported that GRAPHENE AEROGEL made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking RARATONGA ROSE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R3000 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times that Jockey Khumalo used his crop (14) as well as his recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline which was (4) transgressions inside the preceding 60-day period and his finishing position (2nd). f) Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking TULIP TREE more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine of R3000 was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times that Jockey Danielson used his crop (18), his recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline which was (1) transgression inside the preceding 60-day period and his finishing position (1st). g) TULIP TREE (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
