THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOG DETACHMENT (J Mphanya) was stubborn loading. b) THIS TIME ROUND (W Agrella) was nervous in the stalls. c) TRUMPS EXPRESS (C Habib) and ADMIRALS CHANCE (S Khumalo) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. d) GOOM GOOM (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. e) JACKSON MISISSIPPI (R Munger) was slow into stride. f) TRUMPS EXPRESS (C Habib) and ADMIRALS CHANCE (S Khumalo) bumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) ADMIRALS CHANCE (S Khumalo) was baulked for a clear run from the 300m to the finish. b) In the concluding stages TRUMPS EXPRESS (C Habib) was switched in to avoid running onto the heels of DOG DETACHMENT (J Mphanya) which had raced prominently, in advance of the field, and thereafter compounded badly from the 200m. c) DAMMI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
