THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) GOLDEN ARCHER (R Munger) refused to load and was withdrawn.
b) BENEFICIARY (F Herholdt) was nervous in the stalls.
c) ABSOLUTELY FAB (J Mphanya), ALASKAN FATE (Y Ramzan) and ONE BITE AT A TIME (R Fourie) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) BENEFICIARY (F Herholdt) was examined at the start by the course veterinary surgeon and passed suitable to race.
b) Jockey D Ashby (ABSOLUTELY FAB) sustained an injury when kicked by a horse at the start. Jockey D Ashby was examined by the course medics and declared unfit to ride. A replacement rider was found, united with ABSOLUTELY FAB and proceeded to the start. This caused a lengthy delay to the start of this race. Thereafter, during the loading process, GOLDEN ARCHER (R Munger) was unruly, intractable and was withdrawn by the Starter, causing a further delay.
c) In view of the report from the starter regarding GOLDEN ARCHER (R Munger), this mare's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 27/08/2022 to 02/09/2022 inclusive). GOLDEN ARCHER may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
d) Jockey J Mphanya reported that ABSOLUTELY FAB did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
e) SILVER SLIPPERS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (MN)
