The start of this Race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. BULLSADE and ROCKIN RUSSIAN were slow into stride. Jockey Yeni reported that ABELIE did not stride out freely in running. FLORIDA QUAYS was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Jockey Kennedy was charged with a contravention, read with Guideline M on the use of the crop, in that he struck the horse FLORIDA QUAYS more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey Kennedy signed an Admission of Guilt and a fine was imposed. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into account Jockey Kennedy's recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline. Vet: ABELIE - examined post race, nothing obvious detected. BULLSADE - not striding out left hind. BLONDE VISION - coughing and fatigued. Scratched: WESTWING BELTER - injured head in saddling enclosure.
