THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GIMME'S LASSIE (K de Melo) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length. b) I'LL SLIP AWAY (S Khumalo) and DEFINING MOMENT (G Wright) were restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the loading process, the outside bank of the starting stalls opened prematurely resulting in ALLENDE (L Mxothwa) leaving the stalls. The filly was immediately restrained, returned to the start, checked by the course veterinary surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded. As a result, a manual start was effected. This caused a delay to the start of this race. b) From a wide draw YAYA MARIA (M Yeni) was steadied and taken in behind runners to obtain cover. Thereafter YAYA MARIA (M Yeni) over raced in the early stages. c) DAWN DANCER (C Bantam) raced wide on the bend. d) MAJESTIC QUEEN (C Orffer) raced wide on the latter part of the bend and into the straight. e) At the 350m SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (JP van der Merwe) lost momentum when steadied off the heels of F EIGHT (G Behr) which raced green and shifted in. Thereafter, JP van der Merwe was unable to fully assist SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL to the finish when racing tight on the inside of MARY LAMB (S Mbhele). The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL (JP van der Merwe). Jockey G Behr appeared before the Board and was advised that the Stewards expected him to react sooner when his mounts require straightening in similar circumstances. f) CHILILABOMBWE (O Noach) returned suffering from a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1.
