Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RODRIGUEZ (D Schwarz) jumped out awkwardly and thereafter lost 3 lengths. b) MISTER NIBBLES (*I Taka) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 250m, THE WOLF (A Mgudlwa) was carried out by DEPUTY CHIEF (S Khumalo) which shifted out away from the crop and was corrected. Shortly thereafter, DEPUTY CHIEF (S Khumalo) took an awkward stride. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with DANCING ON A CLOUD in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer D Kannemeyer will advised to report back to the Stipendiary Board should he find anything amiss with this colt on return to stables. c) Apprentice I Taka signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E ; Guideline M), in that as the rider of MISTER NIBBLES, he mis-used his crop by striking this gelding more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R7500 was imposed. d) MISTER NIBBLES (*I Taka), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil.
