Stipes Report

EN ROUTE TO THE START, JORDAN (C MAUJEAN) CAST ITS LEFT FRONT SHOE WHICH WAS ATTENDED TO BY THE COURSE FARRIER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	VESUVIO (K A Brewer) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	LA MOOHAL was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 36 TCO2 mmol/L. Trainer T Zackey was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer T Zackey was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 38 mmol/L and that consequently LA MOOHAL was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18 (Withdrawn at 13H55, 5/1 in the betting). LA MOOHAL was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer T Zackey was advised (Mr R Hutcheson).
b)	TOTAL SURRENDER (C Zackey) over-raced in the early and middle stages. This resulted in the saddle on this gelding slipping forward, which prevented Jockey C Zackey from being able to fully assist his mount in running. The saddle slipping forward was confirmed by the Patrol footage. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
c)	In view of the performance of ROYAL EDITION (R Danielson), (distance 30,25 lengths, betting 16/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
d)	Jockey P Strydom reported that STREET ART changed stride continually in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 		
e)	JORDAN (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a)	TOTAL SURRENDER: Jockey C Zackey weighed out at 55kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
