THE STARTER REPORTED A) BORN A STAR was nervous in the stalls. B) PICTURE THE MOMENT was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. C) IDEAL VIEW and TOUREIRO were stubborn loading. D) WICKED GRIN was slow away and lost 1 length. E) AFRICANROYALJEWEL was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) In view of the performance of EMPERORS DECREE (R Fourie) (distance 3.60 - betting 4/1) the Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. B) Jockey J P v'd Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with IDEAL VIEW in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. C) Jockey W Kennedy reported that THE GHAN did not stride out freely in the running. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. D) At approximately the 350m, GUAQUISTADOR (K Minnie) had to switch out to avoid running onto the heels of IDEAL VIEW (J P v'd Merwe) which rolled in. E) Shortly after the start, BETHEL (W Agrella) which jumped in and JEAN PAUL (*Y Ramzan) which jumped out, came together and bumped.
