THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	MARITZBURG MEMORY (S Veale) broke through the front gates of the starting stalls, was immediately restrained and returned behind the stalls, was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon, passed suitable to race and reloaded.
b)	GIRL LIKE US (D Ashby) was restless in the stalls.
c)	OCTOBER FEST (C Orffer) and PRISCILLA MAISEY (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length.
d)	PRINCESSONTHERUN (M Mjoka) stumbled leaving the stalls.
e)	GIRL LIKE US (D Ashby) and TOKYO PRINCESS (*S Bungane) made contact leaving the stalls.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	From the outside draw, CHAMPAGNE KISSES (JP van der Merwe) raced on the outside of the course in isolation from the field.
b)	At the 250m LHASA (G van Niekerk) got its head to the side, shifted in sharply and had to be corrected.
c)	At the 200m GIRL LIKE US (D Ashby) was steadied when unable to secure a clear run between the inside running rail and CAPTAIN'S DESTINY (O Noach). Thereafter, Jockey D Ashby did not persevere with his riding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.	
	Jockey D Ashby was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of GIRL LIKE US, he failed to ride the filly out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Jockey D Ashby signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
d)	Jockey M Mjoka reported that PRINCESSONTHERUN felt uncomfortable in its action and he did not persevere with his riding from the 250m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly and in view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report, no further action was taken.
e)	Jockey G Wright reported that JAPANESE ROSE compounded from the 250m and he did not perseve with his riding. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly and in view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report, no further action was taken.
f)	Jockey M Winnaar reported that SHESGOTCLASS was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding MARITZBURG MEMORY (S Veale), Trainer VH Marshall will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
h)	Apprentice S Bungane was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of TOKYO PRINCESS, he failed to ride the filly out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice S Bungane signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
i)	CHAMPAGNE KISSES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer JS Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (WM)
