Stipes Report
DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, MIST IN SCOTLAND (P MXOLI) PROVED STUBBORN LOADING, WHICH RESULTED IN PASSAGE OF POWER (C HABIB) BECOMING RESTLESS AND BREAKING THROUGH THE FRONT GATES. PASSAGE OF POWER WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY C HABIB, RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, DECLARED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THERAFTER, MIST IN SCOTLAND (P MXOLI) REFUSED TO LOAD AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, MIST IN SCOTLAND (P Mxoli) rushed forward and hit the back of the stalls resulting in PASSAGE OF POWER (C Habib) becoming restless and breaking through the front gates. Trainer F P Habib was advised to reschool this PASSAGE OF POWER prior to his next engagement (GT). b) MIST IN SCOTLAND (P Mxoli) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer P F Matchett was advised (GT). c) CHIEFTAIN (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. d) MASTER CASPER (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. Race 8 contd. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m, PASSAGE OF POWER (C Habib) was steadied momentarily when racing in restricted galloping room between the outside running rail and SORCERESS SUPREME (C Murray). Thereafter, PASSAGE OF POWER (C Habib) was switched in to continue its run. b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MIST IN SCOTLAND, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 23 May 2025 to 29 May 2025. MIST IN SCOTLAND may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer P F Matchett was advised. c) HALBERDIER (M K Katjedi), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B B Ruiters advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CHIEFTAIN was ridden by Jockey M Yeni (declared 22 May 2025 at 09H29). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS.
