CALIDA (C HABIB) WAS SUBJECT TO A LATE VETERINARY EXAMINATION AT THE START AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED. TIME WAS ALLOTTED FOR THE BETTING PUBLIC TO RESTRUCTURE THEIR BETS. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	PRETTY IN PEARLS (*S Valjalo) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
b)	GODSPEED (C Maujean), VAVA VEGAS (D Schwarz) and PERINI PALACE (K Matsunyane) were slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	SHEETS AND GOGGLES (*N Nastili) over-raced in the early stages. 
b)	Jockey C Zackey (LIBECCIO) did not persevere with his riding from the 400m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with this gelding in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 		
c)	In view of the performance of WALLED GARDEN (J Mariba), (distance 14,90 lengths, betting 7/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
d)	SOVEREIGNS CALL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
