Race 11: Hollywoodbets BRIGHT FUTURE MIDDLE STAKES (For All Horses with a nett rating of 102 & below)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Fair start.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	Leaving the 100m ELUSIVE WINTER (G Wright) had to be checked away from the heels of NORDIC QUEST (A Domeyer), which was directed outwards when insufficiently clear, in an attempt to improve on the outside of DEAN STREET (L Mxothwa). 
Jockey A Domeyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of NORDIC QUEST, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to ELUSIVE WINTER leaving the 400m. Jockey A Domeyer signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 25/06/2025 to 01/07/2025, both dates inclusive)	
b)	Jockey R Fourie reported that he felt something amiss with MISS WORLD, which was not persevered with from the 100m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Jockey R Fourie was interviewed by the Stewards and informed that while he had reported something amiss with MISS WORLD, the Veterinary Surgeon had detected no abnormalities in the post-race examination. Jockey R Fourie informed the Stewards that, in his opinion, the filly had commenced to give ground in the middle stages of the race and she had tired badly on ground that, in his opinion was uneven and cut-up after the day's racing. The Stewards advised Jockey Fourie that his opinion was noted but in the interests of Rider safety and this filly's welfare in future engagements, the provisions of Rule 49.7 will be implemented. Trainer GW Ennion will be advised.
c)	Jockey G Wright reported that ELUSIVE WINTER changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey G Lerena reported that HANDSOME PRINCE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that SOUTHERN SKIES made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare.
f)	DEAN STREET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Assistant Trainer G Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer L Woodruff, was advised. (KG)
