THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRE FLOWER (K Matsunyane), BELLA ROSA (*P Mxoli), SAVAGE LOVE (J P van der Merwe) and WEDDING BLISS (C Maujean) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MS FLOWER POWER (*K A Brewer) raced wide and without cover around the turn and into the straight. b) Jockey K Matsunyane reported that he felt something amiss with FIRE FLOWER in running and did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Assistant Trainer A Ndzilana was requested to report back to the Board on the condition of this mare on return to stables. c) In view of the performances of MS FLOWER POWER (*K A Brewer) (betting 4/1, distance 11,25 lengths) and YOU DESERVE IT (C Habib) (betting 14/1, distance 11,65 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these horses. d) WILLOW LANE (W Kennedy), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
