THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PRIME VENTURE (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, MASTER ARIANO stumbled badly, resulting in Apprentice K J Lihaba becoming unbalanced and losing the footing to his right-side stirrup iron, which he regained shortly thereafter. b) Jockey P Strydom (SUPREME DANCE) did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. Thereafter, Jockey P Strydom reported that this gelding tired badly in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) BIRTHRIGHT (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A G Laird advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SUPREME DANCE not striding out behind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
