THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAKURAJIMA (*N Nastili) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start HAARLEM (X Ndlovu), which was slow into stride, clipped the heels of DOWSER (L Mxothwa) when carried out slightly by SAKURAJIMA (*N Nastili), which shifted outwards. b) SAKURAJIMA (*N Nastili) over raced in the middle stages and raced wide on the bend and into the back straight. c) MR FOX (R Fourie) was hanging in in the latter stages. d) Apprentice N Nastili reported that SAKURAJIMA coughed post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MR FOX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
