Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	GALLIC FORGE (C Murray) was restless in the stalls. 
b)	BLAME IT ON ME (*S Bungane) jumped slow, losing two lengths.
c)	MAGNUS THE GOOD (C Orffer) jumped outwards and bumped FUTURE FREE (M Yeni).
d)	JANNEMAN WAT KAN (*J Botes) was slow into stride. 
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, JOUEUR DE FUTE (C Zackey) cast its left front shoe on the way to the start which had to be replaced, causing a delay.
b)	The Stewards reviewed the start with regards to BLAME IT ON ME (*S Bungane) in stall gate 10 and established that this gelding had turned its head to the side shortly before the start was effected and had lost two lengths as a consequence. The Stewards were satisfied that BLAME IT ON ME (*S Bungane) had not been impeded in any way, any ground lost by the gelding was as a result of his own behaviour and therefore took no further action.
c) 	CITY OF PORT LOUIS (*B Plaatjies) raced wide on the turn. 
d)	At the 200m BLAME IT ON ME (*S Bungane), which was attempting to improve into a narrow run between CITY OF PORT LOUIS (*B Plaatjies) and MAGNUS THE GOOD (C Orffer), brushed the hindquarters of CITY OF PORT LOUIS (*B Plaatjies) and then shifted in and made contact with MAGNUS THE GOOD (C Orffer).
e)	Apprentice V Jodhee (TYPICALLY FRENCH) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
f)	FUTURE FREE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (KG)
