THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ONE IRISH ROVER (*D Ramkhakawon) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the 1100m RHYTHM (*D Pillay) was tightened and eased momentarily between RUBY CLAIRE (J Gates) which rolled out marginally away from CAPTAIN EFFICIENT (R A Venniker), and HAPPY WANDERER (S Hlengwa) which rolled in marginally. b) RHYTHM (*D Pillay) was baulked for a clear run between the 350m and the 250m. c) Jockey R A Venniker reported that CAPTAIN EFFICIENT changed stride continually in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockeys C Murray (PRIZED PLATINUM) and M Yeni (RUN THE WORLD) reported that their respective mounts did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of RUBY CLAIRE (J Gates) (11.80 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Apprentice D Ramkhalawon (ONE IRISH ROVER) completed a satisfactory qualifying ride. g) YANNAKIS (C F Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
