Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VALENTINA BALDUCCI (K A Brewer) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m, FAIR PROPOSAL (C Zackey) had to check and switch in to avoid the heels of CAPE SAFFRON (P Mxoli), which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board, which was followed by an Objection being lodged by him on behalf of the fifth-placed horse, FAIR PROPOSAL (C Zackey), against the fourth-placed horse, CAPE SAFFRON (P Mxoli) on the grounds of interference at approximately the 300m. The Objection Board, after reviewing the patrol film of the race and hearing all the evidence put forward by the connections, was of the opinion that FAIR PROPOSAL (C Zackey) would have finished in front of CAPE SAFFRON (P Mxoli) barring this incident and therefore upheld the Objection and amended the Judges' result to read as follows: b) VALENTINA BALDUCCI (K A Brewer) , the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Sage advised (SM). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. Race 8 contd.
