a)	As the start was effected MVELELO (C Murray) was bumped by RUN TO RIO (T Godden) which jumped inwards leaving the starting stalls. 
b)	WORLD OF OUR OWN (R A Venniker) hung in from the 400m.
c)	NOTABLE (C Zackey) commenced to give ground to the field from the 350m and was not persevered with in the concluding stages. Thereafter Jockey C Zackey reported that this gelding choked up in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. The Stipendiary Board has exercised the provisions of Rule 49.7, and this gelding is suspended pending a Veterinary Certificate prior to its next racing engagement.
d)	RUN TO RIO (T Godden), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised (DZ).
