THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	During the loading process, the lead rein fitted to GALLIC FORGE (L Mxothwa) broke, which resulted in this gelding bolting back to the parade ring riderless. GALLIC FORGE was taken in hand, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn, causing a delay.
b)	SHIFTING PATH (*B Plaatjies) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	PARATROOPER (R Fourie) was hanging out on the turn and raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight.
b)	At the 200m PALACE GIFT (C Bantam) was directed inwards to continue its run.
c)	ISCHYRO (O Noach) was directed outwards and into clear running in the latter stages. 
d)	Jockey JP van der Merwe and Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that they felt something amiss with MARIACHI MADNESS and SHIFTING PATH respectively. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings. 
e)	STREET OUTLAW, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer MH Maingard was advised. (ZN)
