THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : (DA)
a)	FIELD MARSHAL (C Zackey) and GO GRAYSON GO (C Habib) over raced in the early and middle stages.
b)	At the 300m DOWN TO BUSINESS (C Murray) was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of CELTIC BEAUTY (J Jacobs) and the heels of CORRUPT (K Matsunyane) which rolled in. DOWN TO BUSINESS (C Murray) was then switched to the inside of CELTIC BEAUTY (J Jacobs) to continue its run.
c)	Leaving the 100m DOWN TO BUSINESS (C Murray) was brushed by CORRUPT (K Matsunyane) which rolled in away from CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley). Thereafter CORRUPT (K Matsunyane) was steadied when tightened between DOWN TO BUSINESS (C Murray) and CAPE EAGLE (S Moodley) which rolled in.
d)	Trainer P B Muscutt signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 8.3.1., in that he failed to ensure that the owner's colours were available for the horse DOWN TO BUSINESS. Accordingly, a penalty of a warning was imposed
e)	Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of CAPE EAGLE misused his crop by striking this gelding more than twelve times (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R4000 was imposed. 
f)	PIONEER SQUARE (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Dawson was advised (SP).
JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES :
a)	DOWN TO BUSINESS raced in club colours.
