THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	EAST COAST GIRL (C Zackey) was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates.
b)	HAZE AND SMOKE (L Mxothwa) was nervous in the stalls, kicked the back gates and rushed the front gates.
c)	COLORAMA (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls and stood awkwardly.
d)	BRETTY (M van Rensburg) and DUTCHESS D'ORANGE (MK Katjedi) jumped slow, losing one length. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (13h34)
b)	Permission was granted for BLIND FAITH (E Webber) and EAST COAST GIRL (C Zackey) to be assisted by a lead pony when proceeding to the start.
c)	Apprentice B Soodoo (CANFORD QUEEN) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
d)	CANFORD QUEEN (*B Soodoo) over raced in the early and middle stages.
e)	BRETTY (M van Rensburg) was hanging out from the 350m.
f)	Jockeys L Mxothwa and X Ndlovu reported that HAZE AND SMOKE and COLORAMA respectively changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
	Trainers SB Kotzen and TJ Laing were advised to report back should they find anything amiss with these horses on their return to the stables.
g)	EAST COAST GIRL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
