Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	DOUBLE DISTILLED (K Steyn), DANIEL (O Noach) and WORLD FIRST (S Veale) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At the 1000m DIOGENES (M Yeni) raced onto the heels of LOMU (JP van der Merwe) and had to be steadied. As a consequence, FROM THE HIP (*B Plaatjies), SIGNOR DANTE (C Bantam) and GOOD SHINE (C Little), which were following, were steadied briefly.
b)	Approaching the 800m DANIEL (O Noach) was steadied when racing tight on the inside of  MAN OF CONSEQUENCE (R Fourie).
c)	Jockey O Noach reported that DANIEL choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d) 	In view of the performance of MAN OF CONSEQUENCE (R Fourie), which raced wide on the latter part of the turn and into the straight, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	ROYAL DAWN (G Behr) was hanging out in the latter stages.
f)	Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on GOOD SHINE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
g)	DIOGENES, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (SC)
