Race 2: LUCKY FISH MAIDEN DASH MAIDEN PLATE (F & M) (For Maiden Fillies and Mares)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (R Fourie) was restless in the stalls. 
b)	FIRST STRIKE (IRE) (G Wright) and LOUI'S STAR (M Yeni) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (R Fourie) over raced in the early stages.
b)	LILTING SONG (C Little) raced wide on the early part of the turn.
c)	HER WORLD (G Behr) raced wide on the turn.
d)	LEBOMBO GOLD (C Murray) was hanging out from the 300m.
e)	At the 250m, WOMAN IN GOLD (S Moodley) was directed outwards away from the heels of SWIFT SERENITY (*B Plaatjies), which shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened.
f)	Leaving the 100m, Jockey M Yeni (LOUI'S STAR) was obliged to stop riding when awkwardly placed on the inside of SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (R Fourie), which rolled in marginally. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni did not ride LOUI'S STAR to the finish in anticipation that SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (R Fourie) would continue to roll inwards. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine LOUI'S STAR.
	Jockey M Yeni appeared before the Board and was advised that while the Board accepted his explanation that he had been inconvenienced, they were of the opinion that he could have made more effort to ride his mount to the finish than he had on this occasion. 
g)	In view of the debut performance of FIRST STRIKE (IRE) (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE (R Fourie), Trainer J Crawford was advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
i)	Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.5.1 in that he failed to report to the Clerk of Scales at least sixty (60) minutes before the official starting time of Race 2, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey L Mxothwa signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 500,00.
j)	LADY VERITAS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GW Ennion was advised. (ZM)
k)	ALESSIA ASHEVILLE, unplaced, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AD Steyn was advised. (ZM)
