THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO TAEGAN'S CHAMP (M YENI) PROVING STUBBORN LOADING. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a)	TAEGAN'S CHAMP (M Yeni) was stubborn loading. Trainer F P Habib was advised to reschool this horse prior to his next engagement (BN).

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	At approximately the 600m, Jockey M Yeni (TAEGAN'S CHAMP) made adjustments to his goggles, which resulted in him removing his colours cap. 
b)	Approaching the 400m, BIRTHRIGHT (*S Valjalo) was brushed out by MASTERSHIP (M van Rensburg), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. 
c)	At approximately the 400m, FLASHY APACHE (P Mxoli) was carried in by ALADDIN'S LAMP (C Murray), which shifted in away from the crop and was corrected. 
d)	Apprentice S Valjalo, the rider of BIRTHRIGHT, accidentally dropped her crop at the 350m, thereafter this gelding commenced to hang in in the concluding stages. 	
e)	Jockey M Yeni (TAEGAN'S CHAMP) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with this horse in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.		
f)	Jockey K Matsunyane (DIWALI ROCKET) did not persevere with his riding from the 200m. Thereafter, Jockey K Matsunyane reported that this gelding did not stride out freely in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.	
g)	Jockey R A Venniker reported that PIONEER SQUARE took no interest in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
h)	SKITTLES SKIES (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
