Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	STAND UP (W Agrella) jumped inwards leaving the stalls and made contact with FLASH LIGHTNING (*N Nastili).
b)	GARDEN SUN (*B Soodoo) and GLOBAL SPEAK (C Little) jumped awkwardly.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h05)
b)	THREE CHEERS (S Naidoo) and SAN QUINTIN (X Ndlovu) came together and bumped shortly after the start.
c)	GLOBAL SPEAK (C Little) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended for a period of 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr J de Villiers)
d)	SAN QUINTIN (X Ndlovu) was switched out to obtain clear running at approximately the 300m.
e)	In view of the performance of A BIT CHILLY (C Zackey) (Betting 17/10; Distance 4.55 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. 
	Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. 
f)	Jockey W Agrella appeared before the Board and was questioned as to the reason he did not ride STAND UP to the finish line. He explained that the kickback in this race was substantial. STAND UP was wearing blinkers, did not enjoy the kickback and was hesitant going forward in the concluding stages. Jockey W Agrella was warned that he should report circumstances which might affect the performances of his mount in the race. 
g)	THREE CHEERS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
