Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARKETA (*V Jodhee) jumped awkwardly. b) PEACE OF MIND (*N Yuen) jumped inwards. c) DECEMBER DAWN (JP van der Merwe) and EXCEEDINGLY GLAM (*S Bungane) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The Stewards reviewed the start with regard to MARKETA (*V Jodhee) in stall gate 3, and established that this filly had jumped awkwardly and that Apprentice V Jodhee had become unbalanced and had fallen back in the saddle, which resulted in this filly shifting inwards, fly-jumping and giving ground to the field. The Stewards were satisfied that MARKETA had not been impeded and took no further action. This incident was brought to the attention of the Academy Riding Master as, in the opinion of the Stewards, Apprentice Jodhee had contributed to this filly having a poor start. The Academy Riding Master has advised the Stewards that they will concentrate on improving Apprentice V Jodhee's skills at the starting stalls. b) OCTOBER FEST (A Fortune) shifted out away from the crop in the latter stages. c) PEACE OF MIND (*N Yuen) shifted out sharply at the 50m and had to be straightened. d) Jockey C Orffer reported that he felt something amiss with LHASA. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey S Veale reported that INSIDE VOICE changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) DAME OF TRIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J Crawford was advised.
