Race 6: RACEHORSE OWNERS ASSOCIATION MR 74 HANDICAP (Open)

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JACK AND GINGER (J van der Merwe) was stubborn loading.
b)	THIS GENERATION (E Webber) and GREY PRINCESS (L Mxothwa) kicked in the stalls.
c)	TAKE THE WORLD (*Y Ramzan) and SAVANNAH BUDDY (*K Strydom) jumped slow, losing three lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	SAVANNAH BUDDY (*K Strydom) raced wide, without cover, around the turn and thereafter compounded from the 400m. In view of this report, the veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
b)	At approximately the 200m ASSURED (G Lerena) had to steady when awkwardly placed on the heels of THIS GENERATION (E Webber), which shifted out sharply away from the crop and was immediately straightened. Jockey E Webber appeared before the Board and was advised to take more care when shifting ground in future engagements.
c) 	In view of the performance of ELLIS ISLAND (C Habib) (Betting 9/2; Distance 2.10 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
d)	Jockey G Cheyne reported CAPE POINT did not stride out freely in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
e)	In view of the report from the starter regarding JACK AND GINGER (J van der Merwe) Trainer G Smith will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled before his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
f)	Jockey E Webber was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking THIS GENERATION more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Webber signed an admission of guilt and was fined R750,00. 
g)	Jockey D Bogaleboile was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking LIGHT WITHOUT more than 12 times in the entire race. Jockey Bogaleboile signed an admission of guilt and was fined R750,00.

h)	Jockey L Mxothwa was charged with a contravention of Rule 66.4 (read with Guideline 1 on overweight) in that he, as the rider of GREY PRINCESS, weighed back in at 56.7kgs, 1.2kgs in excess of the weight at which he was declared out at (55.5kgs). Jockey Mxothwa signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R2000.00.
i)	FAT CIGAR, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer Z Oosthuizen was advised. (LM)
