THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASTER COINER (G Behr) jumped slow, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After leaving the parade ring correctly shod, BLIZZARD BOY (C Little) cast its right front shoe, which was replaced. b) Approaching the 800m MADRA RUA (IRE) (R Fourie), which pulled hard in the early and middle stages, commenced to hang outwards, shifted out sharply and failed to negotiate the latter part of the turn, As a consequence, MADRA RUA (IRE) (R Fourie) lost ground to the field and was not persevered with in the latter stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. Trainer J Crawford was advised that the racing manners of MADRA RUA (IRE) will be monitored. c) DISTRICT MASTER (G van Niekerk) was hanging out in the straight. d) OCEAN SKY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AE Sands was advised. (ZM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) C Murray (RAFFISH TREND) rode +0.5kg (54.9kgs). RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil.
