THE STARTER REPORTED: a) On arriving at the start, Jockey M Yeni (STATE SECRET) required treatment from the paramedics due to a minor injury to his right foot, causing a delay. b) BOSNAY (*G Dookhit) was stubborn loading. c) AVERNIAN GODDESS (A Fortune) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. d) AUGUSTA ROSSO (X Ndlovu) was nervous in the stalls. e) JET LAVISH (*B Soodoo) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. f) BAIE MOOI (R Fourie) jumped outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h48) b) Shortly after the start, MONTELENA (C Habib) was buffeted between FIRST WISH (K Minnie) and BAIE MOOI (R Fourie), which jumped outwards. c) BOSNAY (*G Dookhit) shifted out away from the crop from the 300m and was corrected at the 200m. d) Jockey C Habib reported that MONTELENA took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this mare on her return to the stables. e) BAIE MOOI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
