THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MONT TREMBLANT (M Yeni) was re-saddled at the start. b) TWO FOR THE BOYS (*B Soodoo) was nervous in the stalls. c) NUCLEAR POWER (S Naidoo) jumped awkwardly. d) SUGAR BABY LOVE (*G Dookhit) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (11h56) b) The start of this race was delayed as MONT TREMBLANT (M Yeni) was re-saddled at the start and the starting stalls having to be re-positioned on the track. c) In a slow run race, TERMINAL VELOCITY (R Fourie) and TORI'S GIRL (X Ndlovu) over raced in the early stages. d) The saddle on TERMINAL VELOCITY (R Fourie) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon. e) Trainer AC Greeff appeared before the Board and was questioned regarding the improved performance of TORI'S GIRL. He explained to the Board that, in his opinion, this filly was better suited to the distance of today's race and he advised that he would be running this filly over similar distances in future engagements. Trainer AC Greeff's explanation was noted. f) TORI'S GIRL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM) g) SUGAR BABY LOVE, the fourth-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer FJ Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer DG Smith, was advised.
