During the loading process LIMERICK LACE (C Murray) became restless, was released from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and was subsequently withdrawn. Thereafter during the resumption of the loading process, CHARA SANDS (R A Venniker) kicked the back gates repeatedly, was released from the starting stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. These incidents led to a delay to the start of this race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LIMERICK LACE (C Murray) rushed the front gates, was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, and was subsequently withdrawn. Trainers M/M De Kock will be advised to reschool this filly. b) CHARA SANDS (R A Venniker) kicked the back gates, was released from the stalls, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and was reloaded. c) WHO BLINKED (N Patel) reared once in the stalls. d) TAM'S KNIGHT (T Godden) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (SR) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Apprentice D D Louw reported that he felt something amiss with BLAZING BEAUTY in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) SMORGASBORD (D Daniels), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L W Goosen was advised (DZ).
