THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SLAINTE MHATH (Y Ramzan) was stubborn loading. b) JUAN CARLOS (W Agrella) was stubborn loading and jumped slow, losing one length. c) ONLY A POET (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h52) b) GEORGE HANDEL (X Ndlovu) was hanging out between the 400m and the 300m. c) In view of the performance of THREE CHEERS (S Naidoo), which was not persevered with from the 100m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. Jockey S Naidoo appeared before the Board and was reminded of his obligation to report any circumstances which might affect the performance of his mount. d) Jockey MK Katjedi reported that he felt something amiss with HOME REEF. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. e) BAD MEDICINE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
