THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KENSAL GREEN (G Lerena) reared in the stalls. b) SPECIAL STAR (C Murray) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) At approximately the 200m, ARTIC SILVER (*D D Louw), which hung in from the 300m, was bumped by SURPRISE PARTY (P Mxoli), which rolled out. Thereafter, shortly before the finish line, SURPRISE PARTY (P Mxoli) was steadied when awkwardly placed between CHICKASAW (R Munger) and ARTIC SILVER (*D D Louw), which rolled in. c) DUCHESS OF PALOMA (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Woodruff, acting on behalf of Trainer J Crawford, was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) CHICKASAW: Jockey R Munger weighed out at 54,2kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON HAD NO REPORTS. SCRATCHED: a) MERRYWEATHER Stipes permission.
