Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WILLIAM ROBERTSON jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls, resulting in Jockey R Munger losing the footing to his right-side stirrup iron.
b) COSMIC STAR (R A Venniker) was slow, losing five lengths.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded.
b) As the start was effected, the left gate in starting stall 3 bounced back towards COSMIC STAR (R A Venniker). This gelding reacted to this, which resulted in him losing five lengths.
The Stipendiary Board called a race review into the start with regards to COSMIC STAR (R A Venniker) in stall gate 3. It was established on reviewing the patrol film that this gelding had been impeded by the starting stall gates bouncing back, which had resulted in him losing significant ground to the field. In terms of Rule 61.5.10.1, COSMIC STAR was declared a non-runner.
c) As the start was effected, WILLIAM ROBERTSON (R Munger) jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls, making contact with the right-side front gate. As a consequence of this, Jockey R Munger became unbalanced and lost the footing to his right-side stirrup iron, which he was unable to regain, resulting in him being unable to fully assist this gelding for the remainder of the race.
d) At approximately the 800m, ZIYASHA (C Habib) was steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed between the outside running rail and ELEGANT ICE (K Matsunyane), which rolled out.
e) TAXI TO THE MOON (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

a) MOUNT PINATUBO was ridden by Jockey C Zackey (declared 7 February 2026 at 13H31).
b) LITTLE BALLERINA: Jockey M Yeni weighed out at 50,5kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.

a) LITTLE BALLERINA mild post-race distress.
