THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FRED FRIZZLE (R A Venniker) was stubborn loading and reared in the stalls. Trainer E Verdonese was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). b) WARNING LIGHT (G Lerena) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey R Munger reported that SCORPIO made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) In the pull-up area, Jockey K de Melo dismounted TASKMASTER (ARG), which spun around with him. Jockey K de Melo remounted this gelding and proceeded to the second-placed unsaddling box. d) WARNING LIGHT (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
