THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AUSTRIAN BEAUTY (*G Samo-Burthia) and PURPLE POWAHOUSE (S Veale) were slow into stride. b) NIGHT TIGER (A Fortune) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (JN) : a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. b) Shortly before the finish GORGEOUS BOMB (M Michel) raced in restricted room between the inside running rail and on the inside of CAPPELLINO (C Habib) which was carried in by PRANKSTER (S Khumalo) which in turn was carried in by JANE'S VISION (*D D Louw) which hung in and shifted in from the 200m. Apprentice D D Louw appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to take reasonable measures to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in races. c) In view of the performance of NIGHT TIGER (A Fortune) (6.60 lengths, 18/10 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass will be asked to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. d) Apprentice A Mosahab (GRAND FORCE) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride. e) INTREPID (K de Melo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) NIGHT TIGER : Nothing obvious detected.
