Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) IMITATION GAME (A Marcus) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) A race review, pertaining to IMITATION GAME (A Marcus) drawn in stall gate 2, was called into the start of this race by a member of the Stipendiary Board. In this regard, it was established that as the start was effected, IMITATION GAME (A Marcus) was restless and threw its head up and down on two occasions which resulted in this gelding losing two lengths. In reviewing this incident, the Board was of the view that, IMITATION GAME (A Marcus) was not impeded by a handler nor by a faulty starting stall and that, any distance lost by this gelding was as a result of its own behaviour. Therefore, no further action was taken, and IMITATION GAME (A Marcus) was deemed to be a runner. b) From a deep draw, HAMPTON COURT (R Fourie) raced wide throughout. c) IMPARTIAL (G Wright) was hanging out from the 400m. d) ALFONSA SPAGONI (*C Dicken) jumped the reflection cast by the mirror on the finishing post. e) In view of the performance of WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL (*M Katjedi) (11.75 lengths, 5/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey R Fourie reported that HAMPTON COURT did not stride out freely in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) ALFONSA SPAGONI (*C Dicken), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer H Dixon acting on behalf of Trainer M Dixon advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) HIPPOCRATES Jockey S Veale weighed out at 53.4kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight of 52.5kg. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) WOODSTOCK FESTIVAL : Not striding out right front. b) HAMPTON COURT : Nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
