Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FIRE STORM (C Zackey) was restless in the stalls and thereafter jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) FIRE STORM (C Zackey) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that this gelding made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) FULLY LOADED (*B Marx-Jacobson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib advised (MduP). Notwithstanding the fact that FULLY LOADED coughed in its run on the 29th of January 2026, Trainer F P Habib was questioned as to whether there were any other contributing factors which accounted for the poor performance; he could not offer any other explanation. JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) CHIEFTAIN'S SHIELD fatigued. b) FIRE STORM blowing post-race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
