THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	DEEPEST WATER (J Jacobs) lost 1 length.
b)	GOLDEN CROC (T Godden) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, lost 1 length.
c)	STATE CAPITOL (*S Bungane) lost 2 lengths.
  

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DA) :
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b)	MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (C Zackey) raced wide around the turn in the early stages.
c)	MYSTIQUE ROUGE (M V'Rensburg) and BLIND SPEED (C F Dicken) over-raced in the early and middle stages.
d)	At the 300m BLIND SPEED (C F Dicken) which had come to the end of its run, was steadied when close to the heels of SAINT BRIGID (S Veale) which hung in from the 350m and shifted in. 
e)	At the 200m GOLDEN CROC (T Godden) which hung in from the 400m, was directed to the inside of MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (C Zackey) to continue its run. 
f)	In view of the performances of BLIND SPEED (C F Dicken) (12.65 lengths, 8/1 in the betting) and MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (C Zackey) (15.85 lengths, 14/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g)	SAINT BRIGID (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Fripp acting on behalf of Trainer C Bass was advised (SP).
