THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	PYROMANIAC (*W Fourie) jumped slow, losing two to three lengths.
b)	GALE WARNING (K Strydom) stumbled badly leaving the stalls.
c)	RAVILIOUS (*G Dookhit), EL ROMIACHI (W Agrella) and GLOBAL SPEAK (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (16h04)
b)	Permission was granted for LUCKY SPIRIT (*B Soodoo) and ALWAYS SHINING (Y Ramzan) to be assisted 	by a lead pony when proceeding 	to the start.
c)	GALE WARNING (K Strydom) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. This 	gelding is suspended indefinitely in terms of Rule 93.2.4 until such time as he proves tractable proceeding to 	the start on a race day.
d)	Apprentice W Fourie (PYROMANIAC) rode a satisfactory qualifying ride.
e)	In view of the performance of GRIFFIN PARK (*B Marx-Jacobson), which was not persevered with from the 	200m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	GLOBAL SPEAK (MK Katjedi) was hanging in in the concluding stages.
g)	ALWAYS SHINING, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer DG Smith 	was advised. (LM)
