THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SCOTTISH LINKS (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing one length. b) ERIC LIDDELL (C Zackey) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (14h37) b) SCOTTISH LINKS (JP van der Merwe) pulled hard in the early stages. c) At the 100m a tiring BALZI ROSSI (R Fourie) was steadied briefly when close to the heels of TUNGUSKA (C Orffer), which was directed inwards and into clear running. d) CHANCE ENCOUNTER (M Yeni) and BONELLI (A Domeyer) made slight contact shortly before the finish. e) PRIMAL INSTINCT (S Veale) was hanging out in the straight. f) In view of the performance of TWILIGHT WARRIOR (O Noach), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) BONELLI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
