Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	CHRISTMAS CACTUS (*D D Louw) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride. 

  THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED (DM) :
a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded.
b)	At the 350m, RED CARDINAL (R Venniker) was bumped by CHRISTMAS CACTUS (*D D Louw) which rolled out away from the heels from SERPENTINE FIRE (N Patel).  Thereafter, between the 250m and the 200m, RED CARDINAL (R Venniker) was brushed out on two occasions by CHRISTMAS CACTUS (*D D Louw) which continued to roll out.
Apprentice D D Louw appeared before the Board with regard to this incident and was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in races in future.
c)	Trainer  F Greyling appeared before the Board and was questioned with regard to the improved performance of NUMZAAN (C Murray), the winner, compared to this gelding's previous run. He could offer no suitable explanation. Mr Greyling's attention was drawn to the Rules regarding inconsistent running. The future performances of NUMZAAN will be monitored. 
d)	NUMZAAN (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Greyling   was advised (MM).

a)	CHRISTMAS CACTUS raced without blinkers (advised 07.04.2026/8h26).
