THE STARTER REPORTED: a) USHOULDBEDANCING (K Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) SNOW IN SWEDEN (M Yeni) was slow, losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey M Yeni was charged with a contravention of Rule 57.5.1 in that he failed to report to the Clerk of Scales at least 60 minutes before the official starting time of Race 2, in which he was engaged to ride SNOW IN SWEDEN. Jockey M Yeni signed the Admission of Guilt, and a fine of R1000 was imposed. c) USHOULDBEDANCING (K Strydom) hung in from the 300m. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that SNOW IN SWEDEN made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) USHOULDBEDANCING (K Strydom), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen was advised (MduP).
