THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	CHANCE ENCOUNTER was stubborn loading.
b)	TOTHEMOONANDBACK jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	ERIC LIDDELL and SCOTTISH LINKS were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels and no retests were recorded. (12h36)
b)	BATON ROUGE brushed the inside running rail at approximately the 1200m.
c)	At the 250m FORT LIAM was steadied briefly and directed outwards when unable to secure clear 	running between ERIC LIDDELL and a tiring DUBBELOSIX, which shifted out slightly. 
d)	In view of the performances of SIGNOR DANTE and COASTAL COMMANDER, the Veterinary 	Surgeon was requested to examine these geldings.
e)	In view of the performance of SHOW OFF (Betting 33/10; Distance 10.50 lengths), the Veterinary 	Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) 	In view of the report from the Starter regarding CHANCE ENCOUNTER, Trainer WA Nel will be advised 	to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
g)	ERIC LIDDELL, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith 	was advised. (SC)

a)	SIGNOR DANTE - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
b)	SHOW OFF - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected. Trainer J Crawford was advised to 	report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
c)	COASTAL COMMANDER - examined post-race. Nothing obvious detected.
