THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KIA KAHA was restless in the stalls. b) PLAYING TRIX, DUCHESS ZAHRA, HAMMER BLOW, CATFISH and READY SET FIRE were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) All horses selected for TCO2 were within the required levels, and no retests were recorded. b) Jockey K de Melo reported that he felt something amiss with PLAYING TRIX in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. c) Jockey R A Venniker reported that she felt something amiss with KIA KAHA in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. d) Jockey C Habib reported that INAFIX made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinarian was requested to examine. e) CATFISH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F P Habib was advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. THE VETERINARIAN REPORTED: a) PLAYING TRIX not striding out right hind. b) KIA KAHA blowing post-race. c) INAFIX examined post-race, nothing obvious detected.
