Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEAN STREET (A Domeyer) was stubborn loading, had to be loaded with a hood, causing a delay. b) BLUFF ON BLUFF (L Mxothwa) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SUPERIOR LEADER (G van Niekerk) was continually held up for a clear run between the 400m and the 100m. b) PERSISTANCE (S Khumalo) was hanging in from the 300m. c) ON THE ROAD AGAIN (G Cheyne) was momentarily held up behind BALTIMORE JACK (O Noach) at the 200m. d) Leaving the 200m, a tiring MR FROSTIE (D Ashby) became unbalanced when brushed outwards by SUPERIOR LEADER (G van Niekerk). e) POWER GRID (G Behr) was hanging in from the 200m. f) At the 100m AULD MUG (R Fourie) had to be checked to avoid the heels of RAGNAR LOTHBROK (K Steyn) which shifted out without correction. g) Jockey K Steyn was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of RAGNAR LOTHBROK he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to AULD MUG at the 100m. Jockey K Steyn signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days. (Dates: 25/05/2022 to 31/05/2022 inclusive) h) In view of the report from the starter regarding DEAN STREET (A Domeyer), this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable with a companion. Suspension dates: 19/05/2022 to 25/05/2022 inclusive). DEAN STREET may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) DEAN STREET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised.
