THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FYNBOS (S Khumalo) jumped inwards and bumped MAGICAL MIDLANDS (L Mxothwa). THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MILLAHUE (A Domeyer) shifted in away from the crop on two occasions between the 200m and the 100m and had to be straightened. b) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that MAGICAL MIDLANDS changed stride continually in running. The veterinary surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) PIKETBERG ALLEY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GR Puller was advised. (TJ) d) NAVY STRENGTH, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Snaith, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised.
