a)	A TIME TO REMEMBER (*G Pieterse) was slow into stride and thereafter was squeezed out. 
b)	MONSOON KENNY (*D Geerthsen) was hanging out from the 350m. 
c)	Approaching the 200m, WHITE CEDAR (*M Katjedi) which was hanging in from the 400m, had to switch out to avoid running onto the heels of PINEVIEW (*M Zuma) which shifted out away from the crop.  
d)	Apprentice R Venniker (SONJADOR) accidentally dropped her crop in the concluding stages. 
e)	Apprentice P Mxoli signed an admission of guilt for Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he mis-used his crop by striking the horse VALENCIA more than 12 times in the entire race. In assessing penalty, the Board considered the number of times (14) Apprentice P Mxoli struck the horse VALENCIA, the distance over which and manner in which he used his crop, the fact that he won the race and his record (2) in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R1500 was imposed.
f)	VALENCIA (*P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) advised (HM).
